Sintered discs or otherwise referred to as fritted discs are porous discs or thimbles made from small graded particles of glass which are fused together to form a solid yet porous structure. These sintered disc or frits can then be fused within various glass structures by our skilled glassblowers to form simple filtration glassware or more complex scientific glass items.

GRADES
There are 5 different grades of sintered disc with the grades being numbered from 0- 5 the lower the grade the more coarse the properties of the sintered disc and vice a versa the higher the grade the finer the filtration properties.
Displayed is basic guide to the grades of porosity of sintered discs available and an idea of the uses of each grade although our glassblowers can offer more accurate advice for your application.
